Small size - felt very personal instead of being a "class". It replicates the tension in real life interviews, helps to prepare for interview. I woud recommend the Physics mock interview course to others as it gives a good impression of what an interview would be like and to see how other people deal with the questions that were presented. Also, being able to see how other people worked through the problems, as we could see their working on the smartboard.

At the maths interview day: Being able to watch in detail how others tackle maths interview questions from various topics was the best bit. I would be willing to recommend this course to someone else. At October STEP Course: I enjoyed tackling problems successfully as a group, which at the start seem unsolvable

It was a really good course as we got a 30 min mock interview whilst under the added pressure of being watched by everyone else. Moreover, by seeing everyone else's we got more practise and learnt what we'd do in that situation. Great feedback at the end on strengths and weaknesses.

I bought the Short Online tutorial. I really like the way STEP Maths focus on methods. I haven't found that many materials dedicated to the systematic approach of questions, and the precision of the tutor is not only helpful it is also enlightening. Now I am in a much better position not only for the short questions but also for any other questions on the topics reviewed. I look forward to starting now the long questions that I just bought too afterward.

The partner discussions and mini whiteboard sessions were fun and interesting as I engaged in other people's methods for solving problems. The preparatory questions were cool too, I learnt many neat tricks from these and discovered how useful they could be come the STEP questions.

I really liked how we began each topic by addressing the fundamentals, as it really simplified the process of answering such challenging questions. There was always help available when we were working individually, and the group work and whole class demonstrations really helped as you learnt new methods of problem solving. I would definitely recommend to anyone sitting STEP papers.

Being able to work together in different pairs was definitely useful as I got to see the different methods that the students used in tackling different questions. Using the mini whiteboards was also quite useful as it allowed the teacher to quickly check the students' answers and tell us whether we were wrong or right or close to the actual answer and then the teacher goes through the question with you which again was definitely useful as STEP questions are incredibly difficult!

The course required hard work, but was also a lot of fun. Everyone there was interested in learning and so the atmosphere was conducive to studying. I really liked that before we delved into any STEP question, the booklet provided preparatory questions so that I had a clue how to start each question. Everyone was very supportive and friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed the group work.

Working through questions with other people was really useful. I was able to consider different approaches to questions which I wouldn't have otherwise thought of. I felt the content was difficult and the teachers had a hard time simplifying the steps. I felt the woman explained things really well , the main presenter explained things at times using terminology far beyond that necessary.

This course was incredible. The problems were challenging but rewarding. The presenters friendly as well as the fact they were clear with explanations (the ratio of teacher to student could have been a bit better). I enjoyed learning the best ways to tackle step problems as well as learning with other students who are athe a similar level in maths.
